SUMMARY
Vistaseal is a pruning wound dressing formulated with a fungicide to preclude pathogens such as; Chondrostereum purpureum (Silverleaf Disease) and other Basidiomycete fungi entering pruning wounds of stone and pip fruit and ornamental species; Neonectria galligena (European Cranker Disease) of apples and pears; Eutypa lata (Dead Arm Disease); Botryosphaeria spp (Black Dead Arm Disease and Phaeoacremonium spp (Petri/Esca Disease) of grapevines; Basidiomycete fungi casuing white rot of Kiwifruit.

PROBLEM
Fungi and Bacteria invade vines / trees via pruning wounds and rapidly colonize “woody” tissues.
The infection will progress over time causing foliar stress, dieback and loss of productivity requiring replanting.
Application of wound sealant enables time forwounds to develop an effective callus-typebarrier to stop pathogen entry.
Invitro studies of Psa survival in wound protectants shows that tebuconazole products were effective at killing inoculum within hours (2-3 hours) of application.
Psa Solution was (4 x 10⁸) the control cfu/ml.
Applying Vistaseal to pruning cuts and wounds will also inhibit decay basidiomycetes in the canopy infected.

SOLUTION
Trials over many seasons have demonstrated the effectiveness of wound dressing based on Tebuconazole.
VISTASEAL acts as a wound sealant protecting wounds from entry by fungi and bacteria.
This new generation product is highly effective.
The formulation of the acrylic carrier is also an important contributor to performance of the product.
Field trials showed VISTASEAL gave almost 100% of control of silverleaf infection on; Apples, Pears, Peaches and Quince.
PIPFRUIT/STONEFRUIT
Field trials showed VISTASEAL gave almost 100% of control of silverleaf infection on; Apples, Pears, Peaches and Quince. Wound healing and callus formation was rapid. Wounds on: Walnut, Oak, Fig, Ornamental Cherry, Feijoa and Citrus and amenity species established similar results.
VITICULTURE
Vistaseal is APE free (APE is defined as alkylphenol ethoxylate; or any chemical that may break down to form an alkylphenol) which is in keeping with New Zealand Winegrowers organisation. Field trials in New Zealand and Australia have demonstrated the effectiveness of Tebuconazole at controlling wound infection by Eutypa and other grape decline pathogens and other fungicides verses Mycelial Growth of Eutypa.

European Canker on apples - Field trials showed that VISTASEAL gave effective control of wound infection by Neonectria galligena when applied to fresh pruned wounds. Current wound dressings are all less than 100% effective when existing cankers are excised. Biolchim is always evaluating solutions for canker control which will reduce inoculum levels and enhance recovery from canker excision.
PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO CUTS ON MAIN LEADERSOR TRUNKS
NEVER MIX ANY OTHER INGREIDINTS WITH FORMULATIONS AS THIS CAN AFFECT PROTECTION SIGNIFICANTLY
LARGE WOUNDS MAY REQUIRE SECOND COAT
